A personal injury suit has been filed in Santa Clara Count Court naming a Mountain View company and others that are involved in developing the Ortho Evra Patch. The patch is a commonly used birth control contraceptive that has been the source of hundreds of adverse reactions and complaints all around the world.

The most recent lawsuits name 46 plaintiffs, most being young women in their teens and 20's, that have suffered stroke, blood clots and even death. One case, involving a 23-year-old woman, suffered a deep vein thrombosis and died after wearing the patch for only one month.
