A 13 year old boy was hit by a car on his way to school last week, and the accident has parents of Toledo-area children pushing to add traffic lights in front of the school.

Toledo police say the eighth grader's parents were dropping him off Tuesday morning when they let him out in the middle of Glendale Ave.

"They made a bad decision at the time," said Molly McHugh Branyan, candidate for Toledo City Council. "They may have been in a huge hurry."

Now that school is back in session, it is especially important to be on the lookout for children and obey all posted school zone speed limits.
